His spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki, revealed that the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, played crucial roles in securing Igboho’s clearance to come home.

Koiki said the efforts of these monarchs and other South‑West stakeholders paved the way for Igboho’s return, though no official date has been set.
“This is a moment of joy for Ibadanland and Yorubaland as a whole. Chief Adeyemo is now cleared to return to Nigeria and is no longer being sought by government authorities,” Koiki stated.
He added, “With the support of our royal father, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Sunday Adeyemo is free to return home. He is a free man and will soon be back in Ibadan.”

Details of his travel arrangements are expected to be released in the coming days, the spokesperson said.
In 2025, Igboho publicly expressed frustration over his extended exile, saying he was weary of being away from home. During a visit to the Olugbon of Orile‑Igbon, Oba Olusola Alao, in Oyo State, he appealed to President Bola Tinubu’s administration to remove his name from Nigeria’s wanted list, insisting he was not a criminal.

He explained that he had been declared wanted under the late President Muhammadu Buhari’s government for an unspecified offense, which restricted his use of a Nigerian passport and access to his bank accounts, despite favorable court rulings.
Igboho’s team expressed gratitude to President Tinubu, Yoruba monarchs, and Yoruba people worldwide for their support during his time away.
Igboho first rose to national prominence in January 2021 when he issued a seven‑day eviction notice to herders in Igangan, Ibarapa North LGA, Oyo State, following the killing of prominent resident Fatai Aborode.

His activism, especially regarding security and rights for the Yoruba people, drew widespread attention but also government scrutiny. On July 1, 2021, operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) raided his Ibadan residence to arrest him, leading to a violent clash that left two of his associates dead.
He fled to the Benin Republic intending to fly to Germany but was arrested on July 19, 2021, at Cotonou Airport. Igboho was detained for nearly two years before being released in March 2022.

His arrest and prolonged detention sparked national outrage and protests, with many Nigerians demanding his immediate release.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
