Wizkid: You Caused This Embarrassment On Your Family – Yhemolee Blasts Seun Kuti

Published

on

Nigerian actor Yhemolee has accused Seun Kuti of bringing embarrassment to the Kuti family amid the ongoing feud with Wizkid.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a Snapchat post, Yhemolee argued that Seun himself provoked the backlash, noting that most young people know little or nothing about Fela Kuti and were only reacting to comparisons made by Seun.

He emphasized that Wizkid is a generational icon, with fans who have grown up listening to his music, while many Nigerians only know Fela through history lessons or limited exposure.

Yhemolee wrote:

*”I blame Seun Kuti! This fraction of FC you are criticizing don’t even know Fela—they have no memory of him. Wizkid is their GOAT; they can trace his music from ‘Holla at Your Boy’ till now.

Even some of us raised around the Fela Shrine barely know much about him unless we studied history. Some people don’t even know one Fela song, yet they can sing 200 of Wizkid’s songs from start to finish.

These internet warriors have no respect for anyone, papa included. You caused this embarrassment for the Kuti family. Why are you posting on ring lights for five days straight addressing people who don’t even know you?

Even your innocent wife got caught up in this. Nigerians know Fela shouldn’t be disrespected, and this is the first time I’ve seen anything disrespectful about him—courtesy of you! Go play your saxophone, Egbon, and leave FC alone.”*

Yhemolee also highlighted the generational gap, pointing out that Fela died 29 years ago, and most teenagers and Gen Z members involved in the feud have little knowledge of him.

He concluded that Seun’s actions have led to Fela’s name being disrespected online:

“You’re not the only Fela pikin! How did you end up facing FC? You baited Wizkid until he reacted, and now everyone is reading silly and embarrassing things about Fela. Fela died 29 years ago! Those born that year are turning 30 next year. You’re fighting teenagers and Gen Z who know nothing about him… make it make sense.”
