A source close to Kwankwaso told Leadership that the former Kano State Governor is engaging major opposition leaders to form a united front against the ruling party.

According to the source, Kwankwaso has been in talks with Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, former Minister of Transportation Chibuike Amaechi, and leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the insider said these discussions are part of broader efforts to forge a formidable opposition coalition.

“Kwankwaso is engaging all groups — ADC, Obi, Amaechi, and even the PDP,” the source said. “The goal is to bring the opposition together.”

The source added that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is also involved, along with other prominent Nigerians who are dissatisfied with the current administration.

“It’s not just Obasanjo — many leaders believe a change in government is needed. Obasanjo’s name comes up often because he speaks openly on national issues,” the source explained.
