Udenwa formalized his membership on Thursday at his Amaifeke Ward in Orlu Local Government Area, where he was registered as member number 001. He was registered by the ward secretary, Hon. Anthony Okoro, and received his ADC membership card from the ward chairman, Engr. Uzonna Oriowe. The event was attended by party leaders and supporters, including Chief Aloma Uchenna, ADC Orlu LGA Chairman.

Speaking after his registration, Udenwa explained that his decision followed extensive consultations and careful reflection, emphasizing that the ADC offers a credible platform for accountable leadership.

“I joined the ADC because it is made up of people of integrity, many of whom I worked with during my administration,” he said. “The party provides a platform for internal democracy and accountable governance. My decision is driven by service to the people and the need to strengthen governance in Imo State and Nigeria.”

He described being registered as member number 001 in his ward as symbolic, highlighting the importance of starting his political journey at the grassroots.

“This is my ward, and I am happy to begin here. Together, we will build a party that truly serves the interests of the people,” he added.

The Imo State ADC Chairman, Prof. James Okoroma, led members of the State Executive Committee and party stakeholders from the Orlu Zone to witness the registration. Other dignitaries in attendance included Prof. Francis Ukaigkwe, Dr. Vin Udokwu, and several party chieftains.

Okoroma described Udenwa’s defection as a landmark moment for the party in Imo.

“The entry of Chief Achike Udenwa into the ADC significantly strengthens our party. Registering him as Number 001 in Amaifeke Ward underscores our commitment to grassroots mobilisation and statewide expansion,” he said. He added that since the party’s declaration in Enugu on December 31, 2025, the ADC has continued to attract prominent figures from across the political spectrum.

Welcoming the former governor, Amaifeke Ward Chairman Engr. Uzonna Oriowe said Udenwa’s entrance would boost the party’s prospects in upcoming elections. Similar sentiments were shared by ADC Orlu Zonal Chairman Hon. Ezeru Damian and Orlu LGA Chairman Chief Alloy Oluigbo, who described Udenwa as a leader whose tenure reflected good governance and noted that his defection marked the start of new political momentum in Imo State.

In his remarks, Udenwa pledged loyalty to the party and assured members of his commitment to building a strong platform capable of addressing leadership failures.

“I am grateful for the warm welcome into the ADC family. I am leaving the PDP to help build a solid platform that can correct leadership failures and bring redemption to our people,” he said. “The ADC is filled with Godly, disciplined, and visionary leaders.”

He urged residents of Imo to join the ADC, describing it as a vehicle for political liberation and improved governance. Udenwa also called on party leaders to remain united and accommodating as the party grows.

“Let us lead with love and unity. We must work hard, welcome newcomers warmly, and stay focused if we are to win elections and restore hope to our people,” he concluded.

Akpabio Camp Row Deepens As APC Chieftain Rejects Suspension Report.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Chief Edet Ben, has denied involvement in the alleged suspension of Mr. Eseme Eyiboh, Special Adviser to the Senate President on Media and Publicity, from the party in Ward 9, Esit Eket Local Government Area.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Ben, who serves as an Ex-Officio member of the party in Ward 9, threatened legal action against those behind what he described as the forgery of his name and signature on documents claiming Eyiboh’s suspension.

In a sworn court affidavit, Ben described the purported suspension process as fraudulent and non-existent.

He stated that no meeting was held on April 22 to discuss or approve any disciplinary measures against Eyiboh or any other party member, adding that he neither attended nor endorsed such proceedings.

Ben also alleged that his name and signature were falsely inserted into an attendance list linked to the alleged suspension exercise.

He subsequently disowned both the attendance document and the suspension letter reportedly sent to APC leadership at the chapter and state levels.

In his notice, Ben demanded the immediate removal of his name from the documents, a public retraction, and an end to any unauthorised use of his identity.

He warned that failure to comply within 24 hours would result in legal action.

The controversy follows an announcement by a faction within the ward claiming Eyiboh had been suspended over alleged anti-party activities.

Meanwhile, a grassroots political group, Ward Nine New Era (WNNE), has strongly condemned the move, describing it as malicious, baseless, and invalid.

The group argued that the action appeared targeted at a key political figure who had recently mobilised grassroots support for major APC leaders, including President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Governor Umo Eno.

WNNE also questioned the legitimacy of the ward executives behind the move and insisted that due process was not followed.

The group urged party members and the public to disregard the suspension, maintaining that it lacked credibility and legal standing.
