FG Drags Mike Ozekhome To Court Over Alleged Property Fraud.
The Federal Government has filed a criminal case against Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Mike Ozekhome over allegations that he used forged documents in a property dispute in the United Kingdom.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The three-count charge was filed on Friday at a Federal High Court in Abuja by Osuobeni Akponimisingha, Head of High-Profile Prosecutions at the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), alongside Ngozi Onwuka, acting on behalf of the Attorney-General of the Federation.
Ozekhome is accused of presenting a falsified Nigerian passport and other forged documents to support his claim to a property located at 79 Randall Avenue, London NW2 7SX. The alleged offences are said to have occurred in August 2021 in Abuja’s Maitama district, under the jurisdiction of the FCT High Court.
The charges include giving false information, using forged documents, and attempting to mislead a public authority. The federal government intends to call investigators and a representative from the Nigerian Immigration Service as witnesses. Evidence expected in court includes tribunal judgments, official letters, statements, and passport records. The trial date has not yet been scheduled.
The dispute revolves around the London property and involves Ozekhome and the late retired Lieutenant-General Jeremiah Useni. The case was previously filed at the UK First-Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) under case number REF/2023/0155, with Shani Tali as the applicant and Ozekhome as the respondent.
Ozekhome claimed that the property was gifted to him by Shani Tali in 2021. However, Tali’s representatives insisted she was the rightful owner. During tribunal proceedings, a witness identified as Tali Shani supported Ozekhome, stating he had authority over the property and had transferred it to him.
The tribunal reviewed evidence presented by Shani Tali’s team, including national identification and passport documents, and declared them falsified. Ultimately, the court dismissed all claims under the name of Tali Shani and recognised Useni as the lawful owner of the property.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
