Bello, who spoke during a televised political programme, argued that Kwankwaso does not possess the broad national appeal enjoyed by some prominent political figures who have recently pitched their tents with the African Democratic Congress. He maintained that leaders such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and Nasir El-Rufai joined the ADC without placing conditions, largely because of their established nationwide influence.

According to Bello, Kwankwaso’s political strength remains largely confined to Kano State, making his overall electoral value limited at the national level. He referenced the outcome of the last general election to support his claim, noting that Atiku Abubakar secured about seven million votes, Peter Obi garnered roughly six million votes, while Kwankwaso polled just over one million votes.
