‘Teams Are Scared Of Us’ — Osayi-Samuel After Eagles’ Algeria Triumph.

Published

on

According to Nivo News, Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has said Nigeria’s national team has reached a stage where opponents now approach matches against them with caution, following their convincing 2-0 victory over Algeria in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations at the Marrakech Stadium.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Birmingham City full-back attributed Nigeria’s growing reputation to strong self-belief, discipline, and strict adherence to tactical instructions from the coaching crew. He explained that the team’s focus remains on improving their own performance while respecting the strengths of their opponents.

Osayi-Samuel noted that Algeria struggled to match Nigeria’s intensity and authority throughout the encounter, adding that the Super Eagles deliberately aim to dominate games and impose themselves on rivals. He described the performance against Algeria as a clear reflection of that mindset.

The 26-year-old defender highlighted the clean sheet as one of the most satisfying aspects of the win, stating that the team executed the game plan effectively. He emphasized that limiting Algeria—a side known for scoring goals—to no shots on target underlined the team’s defensive solidity, while the two goals scored capped off a near-perfect display.

Responding to complaints from the Algerian camp regarding officiating, Osayi-Samuel declined to comment, insisting that such matters were not his concern. He also dismissed late fears of an injury after appearing uncomfortable near the end of the match, explaining that it was only cramps and not a serious issue.

Osayi-Samuel’s display was reflected in his statistics, as he finished as one of Nigeria’s highest-rated players. He recorded several defensive contributions, won the majority of his duels, and maintained an impressive passing accuracy. Nigeria will now shift focus to a crucial semi-final clash against host nation Morocco in Rabat on Wednesday, January 14.

According to him, the administration has already begun implementing reforms in the power sector, including policy decisions and new legislative measures aimed at improving electricity supply.

He maintained that progress is ongoing and that the focus should be on what has been achieved so far rather than expectations for future electoral outcomes.

Bwala added that Nigerians will ultimately decide at the appropriate time whether the president deserves another term based on his overall performance.

“The president has not even come to the point of second term. We are still in the first term, and reforms are ongoing, including new laws and sectoral changes,” he said.

The ADC had alleged that FCT authorities denied it access to venues for its convention and attempted to stop the use of the Rainbow Event Centre before the event eventually held there.

Reacting, Wike said investigations have already been launched into the matter and directed his Chief of Staff to identify any staff member involved in the alleged interference.

He stated: “We will not allow people to just wake up and say the FCT Minister did this or that. I have told my Chief of Staff to find out from the company which staff member interfered. We will get to the bottom of this.”

Meanwhile, Wike also commented on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s political ambitions, saying he would have to wait until 2031 to contest for the presidency.

Wike made the remarks during an inspection of ongoing road projects in Kuje Area Council on Thursday, while also criticising Atiku’s repeated attacks on the current administration and insisting that President Bola Tinubu has performed better than previous leadership.
