The development follows an earlier incident in which the singer reportedly evaded arrest after a confrontation with Ashabi Simple, the mother of one of his children. The clash was said to have occurred on Thursday, January 1, 2026, when Ashabi visited Portable’s bar in Ogun State.

A video from that encounter showed a tense exchange between the two, with Ashabi expressing anger over being publicly referred to as a baby mama. She reportedly insisted that she deserved to be recognised as a wife rather than reduced to the label.

Portable, however, maintained that his only wife is his legally married partner, Bewaji, insisting that all other women in his life remain baby mamas. The disagreement reportedly escalated into a heated altercation, during which the singer was accused of pushing and physically assaulting Ashabi.

The situation later worsened when Ashabi, accompanied by her siblings, reported the matter to the police, alleging assault and abuse, a move that ultimately led to the singer’s arrest.

Usyk acknowledged that Joshua is nearing a full return but stressed the need for patience as he continues recovery.
