According to Nivo News, former governors, legislators, and political appointees in Abia State who served between 1999 and 2023 have announced plans to take legal action against Governor Alex Otti for conducting official government business from his private residence in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The announcement was made during the group’s second meeting, held at the residence of former Governor Theodore Orji. In a communique issued on Friday, the group stated that the lawsuit aims to compel Governor Otti to relocate his operations to the Government House in Umuahia. Former governors Orji Uzor Kalu, Theodore Orji, and Okezie Ikpeazu were among those who participated.

“A lawsuit should be instituted compelling Governor Alex Otti to operate from the Government House, Umuahia,” the communique read. The statement, delivered by former Abia State government media aide Victor Ike Oye, expressed frustration that Otti continues to operate from his private home.

The group also reiterated its support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and expressed gratitude to the President for nominating former governor Okezie Ikpeazu as an ambassador.

Meanwhile, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North in the National Assembly, declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is determined to unseat Governor Otti in the 2027 elections. Speaking to supporters at a political event, Kalu described Otti as a “one-term governor” lacking political acumen and vowed to campaign across the state to ensure his defeat.

“The Governor said that those who want to take over from him should write their wills. I tell him to write his first because we are taking over. The Governor is a joker; he doesn’t know politics. He is a banker, and as far as I’m concerned, he is a one-term governor,” Kalu stated.
