Peter Obi Could Fly ADC Flag In 2027, Says Ireti Kingibe.

According to Nivo News, Kingibe made the declaration during a televised political programme, where she stressed that her political decisions are guided by national interest rather than personal allegiance to any individual.
She noted that Peter Obi could emerge as the ADC’s presidential candidate in 2027, but maintained that the party’s choice would ultimately determine her support, regardless of who secures the ticket.
The lawmaker explained that her decision to join the ADC was rooted in her commitment to strengthening opposition politics, adding that she would work actively for the party’s candidate once the selection process is concluded.
Kingibe dismissed arguments in favour of a one-party system, insisting that a strong and vibrant opposition remains essential for the health of Nigeria’s democracy.
She added that if Nigerians choose to retain President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 2027 polls, she would respect the outcome as the will of the electorate.
The senator, however, criticised the current economic conditions under the Tinubu administration, arguing that many Nigerians are struggling more than expected under existing policies.
She urged the president to reassess aspects of his economic approach, particularly taxation, which she said is placing excessive pressure on citizens and worsening hardship.
While acknowledging that economic reforms often come with short-term pain, Kingibe expressed doubt that the country is close to the end of its current difficulties, citing concerns over policy execution.
She concluded by stating that although the president may have good intentions, ineffective implementation and policy circumvention continue to undermine the desired outcomes of government reforms.

Representing the President at the commissioning of the Old Keffi Road (stretching from Kado Fish Market to Deidei), Akpabio highlighted the significance of the project in marking the administration’s third anniversary.
The Senate President remarked that no other Nigerian leader in history has commissioned a comparable number of projects across the country within their first three years in office, reinforcing his view of Tinubu as a high-performing leader.
A group of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Kwara State has formally requested that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq intervene regarding the party’s candidacy for the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency in the upcoming 2027 elections.
