At the time of reporting, it remained unclear if there were any casualties. Motorists and commuters slowed down as the fire spread, causing significant congestion along the busy corridor.
Firefighters from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service were promptly deployed to contain the blaze, while officers from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) managed traffic to reduce delays.
In a statement on X, LASTMA confirmed the fire and assured the public that efforts were ongoing to bring the situation under control. The agency emphasized that personnel were on-site working to restore normal traffic flow.
