Don’t Waste Your Votes, Invest Them In Tinubu — Benjamin Kalu Tells Igbos.
According to Nivo News, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has called on Igbo voters to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging them not to squander their votes on sentimental political choices.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Kalu made the appeal during a series of courtesy visits across the three senatorial zones of Abia State—Abia North, Abia Central and Abia South—where he met with prominent political figures and party stakeholders.
He argued that the most realistic pathway to the emergence of an Igbo president lies in forging strong political alliances, particularly through sustained cooperation with the South-West, rather than isolated political posturing.
The lawmaker echoed President Tinubu’s directive to All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders to deepen engagement with party stakeholders and intensify grassroots mobilisation across the country.
During his engagements, Kalu paid visits to former Abia State governor and ex-Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Kalu, in Abia North; met Senator John Bob Nwannunu in Abia Central; and visited APC chieftain and former Hallmark Bank Managing Director, Mac Wabara, in Abia South.
He urged Igbo leaders and voters to adopt a strategic and pragmatic approach to politics, stressing that votes should be treated as investments capable of yielding political dividends, rather than being cast merely to express sentiment.
Kalu charged APC stakeholders in Abia State to immediately strengthen grassroots mobilisation and strategic outreach to ensure a decisive victory for the party in the 2027 elections.
He declared that the era of negotiating for marginal electoral support in the state was over, insisting that the APC now possesses the structure, momentum and political capital required to secure an outright win in Abia.
The deputy speaker praised President Tinubu’s leadership, describing his policies as bold and difficult but necessary, noting that their benefits are gradually becoming evident.
He maintained that political influence is built on numbers, not emotions, and warned that casting votes where they do not translate into tangible political gains amounts to wasting an opportunity to negotiate for meaningful dividends.
Kalu concluded by appealing to Igbo voters to ensure their votes count in future elections, insisting that current political calculations favour investing electoral support in President Tinubu, where it would have the greatest impact.

Drama In Court: El-Rufai Fires Back At DSS With No-Case Plea In Explosive Wiretapping Saga!.
Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai is preparing to submit a no-case plea in his ongoing wiretapping trial following the Department of State Services (DSS) decision to rest its case at the Federal High Court in Abuja. The DSS had charged the former governor with five counts, including unlawful communication interception and threats to national security, stemming from his February interview on Arise Television where he claimed to have intercepted a call involving National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu regarding his own potential arrest.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
During Tuesday’s proceedings, DSS counsel Oluwole Aladedoye announced that the prosecution would not present further witnesses. In response, El-Rufai’s defense counsel, Paul Erokoro (SAN), declared the intent to file a no-case submission, asserting that the prosecution failed to produce enough evidence to warrant a formal defense. Both parties have been granted two weeks to submit their respective filings.
Additionally, the defense requested a relaxation of El-Rufai’s bail terms, labeling the current requirements—which include sureties who are Level 17 civil servants with property in Maitama or Asokoro and verification from the Kaduna State Traditional Council—as overly burdensome. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik denied the request, maintaining that qualified civil servants exist who can meet these conditions. The case has been adjourned until September 22 to address the no-case submission and move forward with the trial.

DSS Orders Immediate Probe After Shocking Courtroom Scuffle With Sowore!.
The Department of State Services (DSS) has officially launched an investigation into the behavior of its operatives following a publicized altercation involving activist Omoyele Sowore. The incident occurred at the Federal High Court in Abuja on June 22, 2026, after the court ordered Sowore’s remand to Kuje Prison. Viral footage of the event captured a heated confrontation between Sowore, an official from the Custodial Centre, and DSS operatives. While Sowore eventually chose to be transported in a DSS vehicle rather than one provided by the Correctional Service, the agency’s Director General has ordered a probe into the conduct of the involved personnel.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The DSS released a statement to clarify the background of the matter, citing several points:
-
The legal proceedings stem from a 2025 social media post in which Sowore allegedly disparaged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
-
Initially, the DSS opted to request a retraction of the post in September 2025, rather than pursuing an immediate arrest, as part of its current policy to avoid the use of force.
-
The Service highlighted its history of seeking judicial interpretation for various disputes—such as the “Shadow Government” case involving Prof. Pat Utomi and reports regarding the Lagos State House of Assembly and National Assembly—rather than relying on arrests.
-
The DSS noted that it did not oppose the court’s decision to grant Sowore bail on his own recognizance at the start of the trial.
-
The agency emphasized that the remand was a direct result of court proceedings, not a forced enforcement action by the Service itself.
