Kwankwaso Warns Nigerians: NNPP Will Shock the 2027 Elections.

According to Nivo News, former Kano State Governor and National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has asserted that the 2027 general elections in Nigeria will surprise many political observers who are currently underestimating his party.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking to supporters at his residence on Miller Road, Kano, Kwankwaso said that some political stakeholders have dismissed the NNPP, with some even referring to party members as “children.” He argued that such perceptions reflect a misunderstanding of the complexities and dynamics of Nigerian politics.

Kwankwaso emphasized that the NNPP remains strong, organised, and prepared to make a significant impact in the upcoming elections. “A lot of people who don’t understand politics are underrating us. Some are even calling us children. We will shock them at the polls with the outcome of the elections,” he stated.

The comments come amid reports that Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, who was elected in 2023 under the NNPP platform, is preparing to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The move, reportedly scheduled for January 5, 2026, was later postponed to January 12.

Sources close to Yusuf told Nivo News that the governor remains determined to join the APC despite opposition from Kwankwaso and other NNPP leaders. The disagreement has reportedly led to a deep rift between the two long-time political allies, making reconciliation increasingly unlikely.

Insiders suggest that Yusuf’s defection is motivated by his intention to secure re-election in 2027 on a platform he considers more viable, citing internal divisions and leadership challenges within the NNPP as key factors influencing his decision.
