“Pastor Chris Okafor Steps Aside Amid Explosive Sexual Misconduct Allegations”.
The Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Chris Okafor, has stepped aside from his pastoral duties following a series of sexual misconduct allegations. The decision comes amid growing public scrutiny and calls for accountability from members of the Christian community.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Nivo News, the pastor had publicly apologised last Sunday to actress Doris Ogala during a church service, kneeling on the pulpit to admit past mistakes and seek forgiveness. The apology followed his marriage to a new bride, Pearl, on December 16, 2025, despite Ogala’s viral claims that Okafor betrayed her trust after a long-term relationship and had reneged on marriage promises.
Church insiders, however, dismissed the allegations, describing them as attempts to extort money from the pastor. Sources within the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) confirmed that respected Christian leaders pressured Okafor to step down temporarily, pending potential disciplinary measures. A senior PFN official clarified that while the body cannot conduct a criminal investigation, it can exert spiritual pressure and enforce internal discipline.
During a New Year crossover service, Okafor told congregants that his decision to step back was for spiritual renewal and personal rest with his wife. He stated that the hiatus would last until February but did not preclude occasional participation in church activities.
The allegations against the pastor began in December 2025 when Ogala accused him of a sexual relationship dating back to 2017, emotional manipulation, and sharing explicit images. Other women, including a former wife and choir member, have since made similar claims, citing infidelity, coercion, and pregnancies allegedly resulting from their involvement with Okafor. Despite these accusations, the Lagos State Police said no formal complaints have been lodged, limiting their capacity to intervene.
Some church members defended the pastor, insisting the claims are fabricated and motivated by malice or financial gain. Meanwhile, Christian leaders, including the Lagos chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria and the International Secretary of the Ecumenical Synods of Bishops, emphasized caution, urging ministers to uphold ethical standards, acknowledge human frailty, and seek genuine repentance and restoration where wrongdoing is admitted.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
