“We Are Fully Behind You” — Danagogo Backs Fubara’s Alliance With Centre.
According to Nivo News, former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Alabo Tammy Wenike Danagogo, has publicly pledged his full support to Governor Siminalayi Fubara following the governor’s recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Danagogo gave the assurance on Thursday while speaking at the 2026 New Year banquet held at the Government House in Port Harcourt. He praised Governor Fubara’s decision to align with the ruling party at the federal level, describing the move as strategic and beneficial to both Rivers State and the nation at large.
He noted that working in harmony with the Federal Government would accelerate development, stressing that the governor’s leadership style reflects peace, unity and resilience in the face of opposition. Danagogo said the governor enjoys widespread backing, even if such support is not always expressed publicly, and urged Fubara to remain confident that divine guidance supersedes political power.
Reaffirming his stance, Danagogo declared that Rivers State stands firmly behind the governor’s efforts to create synergy with the centre, adding that such cooperation would usher in progress and stability.
In his response, Governor Fubara called on his supporters to remain calm amid the evolving political climate in the state. Speaking at the same event, he said distractions and criticisms were inevitable, describing them as reactions born out of misunderstanding.
The governor expressed confidence that the unfolding events would ultimately work in his favour, assuring supporters that all necessary arrangements were in place to secure a second term in office. He maintained that his administration understands its direction and remains focused on a smooth political journey.
The remarks come against the backdrop of renewed tensions between Governor Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who recently suggested that Rivers State’s leadership would be corrected in the 2027 elections.
