Titus Uba, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 2023 governorship candidate in Benue State, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing personal neglect by his former party as a key reason for his defection. According to Uba, the move reflects his desire to support Governor Hyacinth Alia and the APC-led administration in the state.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

A former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Uba’s decision to align with Governor Alia has sent ripples through the state’s political landscape, signaling a significant realignment given his longstanding influence within the PDP.

Speaking on his reasons for leaving the PDP, Uba emphasized the party’s lack of support during a critical period in his life. “When I was sick, no one from my former party, the PDP, cared about my welfare,” he said, contrasting the party’s neglect with Governor Alia’s intervention.

Uba explained that Governor Alia personally ensured his medical care, covering hospital bills, accommodation, and daily sustenance while he was in Abuja. “He came through for me when I was at my lowest,” Uba noted, adding that the governor’s gesture went beyond politics and demonstrated genuine leadership and compassion.

Chidimma Adetshina, the 25-year-old former Miss Universe Nigeria, is currently facing new deportation efforts after being arrested in Cape Town for allegedly living in South Africa illegally. Following her arrest in Summer Greens, Adetshina appeared in the Cape Town Regional Court on June 9, where she was released on warning and ordered to return for a subsequent hearing next month.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The legal proceedings center on the following details:

  • Immigration officer Adrian Jackson submitted an affidavit claiming that an investigation concluded Adetshina and her minor son reside in South Africa without valid legal status, labeling them “illegal foreigners”.

  • Jackson submitted that Adetshina has intentionally remained in the country unlawfully, in violation of the Immigration Act 13 of 2022.

  • Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber stated that he previously dismissed Adetshina’s application to review the department’s refusal of her request for a letter of good cause.

  • Minister Schreiber alleged that Adetshina failed to respond after being notified in September 2024 of the department’s intent to cancel her and her son’s South African identity documents.

  • The Minister further claimed that Adetshina subsequently obtained a Nigerian passport, applied for a South African visitor’s visa, and was declared a “prohibited person” on December 19, 2024.

  • Pending her next court appearance, the court has ordered Adetshina to remain at her current address and provide immigration investigators with updates regarding any changes to her employment, residence, or movement.

Adetshina’s legal status first became a point of public debate during the Miss South Africa 2024 pageant, a contest from which she eventually withdrew due to concerns regarding her family’s safety. She was later invited to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, an event she went on to win.

Sebastian Gorka, a former deputy assistant to President Donald Trump and senior director for counterterrorism at the National Security Council, recently revealed that US forces successfully neutralized 199 jihadists during a single operation in Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Gorka shared these details during an interview with Marissa Streit, CEO of the conservative media outlet PragerU. Highlighting the Trump administration’s approach to counterterrorism, Gorka stated:

  • The President is focused on neutralizing threats to Americans and those targeting Christians, rather than engaging in nation-building.

  • He personally monitored the operation from the Situation Room, describing the experience as “real” and similar to a “Tom Clancy movie”.

  • The strike resulted in 199 confirmed enemy casualties, which Gorka identified as the largest number of enemies killed in action in a single operation since the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

In addition to the casualties, the operation yielded a significant intelligence breakthrough:

  • US forces reportedly recovered an massive amount of electronic equipment, requiring an additional plane to transport the materials home.

  • Gorka noted this was the largest haul of enemy electronics since 9/11 and is currently being analyzed by experts to decode ISIS communication and operational strategies.

It remains unconfirmed if Gorka’s account refers to the May 15 joint US-Nigeria operation that targeted ISIS leader Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, or the May 30 operation against ISWAP fighters. President Bola Tinubu previously confirmed that “several” ISIS lieutenants were killed alongside Al-Minuki during the May 15 mission. Gorka further explained that Africa has become a focal point for jihadist activity due to its growing Christian population and the exploitation of governance weaknesses by extremist groups in the Sahel.
