Tanko made the disclosure on Thursday during an interview on Channels Television, explaining that members of the Obidient Movement would align with the ADC’s internal structures and democratic processes while continuing to mobilise support for Obi on his new political platform.
He expressed confidence that Obi would emerge victorious in the contest for the party’s presidential ticket, citing the wide support base and growing enthusiasm surrounding his entry into the ADC. According to Tanko, the movement is prepared to engage all contenders fairly, in line with democratic principles, as the party prepares for its internal primaries.
He added that even if Obi fails to secure the ADC ticket, the Obidient Movement would respect the outcome of the process and remain committed to the party’s democratic ideals. Tanko stated that the movement would continue to support the ADC and contribute to its growth, regardless of the eventual candidate.
The Obidient Movement leader noted that the ADC had gained significant momentum following Obi’s defection, describing the development as a turning point that injected fresh energy and visibility into the party.
He further disclosed that large numbers of Obidient Movement supporters are set to formally join the ADC, stressing that millions of members have already indicated their readiness to move into the party in support of Obi’s political ambition.
