2027 Showdown: ADC Vows To Dethrone PDP In Bauchi.
According to Nivo News, the Bauchi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has intensified statewide mobilisation and grassroots engagement as part of its preparations for the 2027 general elections, declaring its determination to wrest power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The party disclosed that it has embarked on a coordinated drive to register new members and consolidate its structures across both urban and rural communities in the state. The initiative, ADC leaders said, is aimed at positioning the party as a formidable alternative ahead of the next election cycle.
Speaking after a stakeholders’ meeting in Bauchi, Chairman of the ADC State Forum and spokesperson for the stakeholders, Abubakar Muhammad Bibi, said the party is deepening engagement with residents to understand their concerns, promote its programmes and advocate inclusive governance.
Bibi stated that membership registration is gaining momentum, describing the response from the public as encouraging. He said the ADC is adopting a quiet but strategic approach to building support, expressing confidence that the party would successfully unseat the PDP in 2027.
He explained that the ongoing community outreach is designed to enlighten citizens on the importance of joining the ADC and to present the party as a credible alternative to what he described as years of ineffective governance by both the PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, the party is focused on building a strong support base anchored on democratic values and inclusive leadership, adding that significant progress has already been recorded. He also revealed that an internal leadership disagreement within the party had been resolved, with a committee constituted to verify party leadership structures from the ward to local government levels across Bauchi’s 20 local councils.
Despite past challenges, Bibi said the ADC continues to expand, attributing its growth to widespread dissatisfaction with governance in the state. He cited conditions in public primary schools and other sectors as evidence of systemic failure, alleging that governance under the PDP has not met the expectations of the people.
Bibi further claimed that the current administration operates within a narrow circle of influence, insisting that the ADC is committed to ending what he described as exclusionary governance. He expressed optimism that by May 29, 2027, Bauchi residents would witness the inauguration of an ADC-led government in the state.

A Federal High Court in Lokoja, presided over by Justice Isah Dashen, voided a previous judgment that had mandated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC.

The court determined that the prior verdict, issued on December 10, 2025, was constitutionally defective because it was made without hearing from all necessary parties.

In an interview on Channels Television, Enekweizu argued that the timing of the ruling was intended to prevent the party from obtaining the codes required to upload candidate names to the INEC portal.
-
Enekweizu reassured party members and supporters that they have “nothing to fear,” asserting that the NDC will obtain the necessary codes, upload their candidates, and participate in the 2027 elections.
-
He also expressed strong criticism of the current government, citing issues such as insecurity, hunger, and failure as reasons for his party’s determination to contest the elections.
