Aborishade said his decision was driven by the worsening internal crisis within the PDP, which he believes threatens the party’s ability to present a credible candidate in the next governorship election. Speaking with journalists in Ibadan, he explained that persistent disputes and unresolved conflicts within the party had made it impossible for him to continue as a member.

He stated that the refusal of key actors within the PDP to heed calls for reconciliation posed a serious challenge to internal democracy, prompting his move to what he described as a more progressive platform. According to him, the ADC offers an environment where fairness, equity, and democratic principles can thrive.

The governorship hopeful added that the ADC has become a popular and credible alternative, noting that the calibre of individuals joining the party signals its growing relevance. He reaffirmed his commitment to progressive ideals, justice, and the overall interests of Nigeria.

He dismissed the claim, stating that the individuals who announced the suspension have no powers to take such disciplinary action.
