‘You Were Too Greedy’ – Wike’s Aide Fires Back At Reuben Abati Over Loyalty Claims.
Lere Olayinka, the media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has launched a sharp rebuttal against veteran journalist and Arise TV anchor, Reuben Abati, following comments made about his loyalty to his principal.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Nivo News, the exchange followed remarks by Abati on Arise TV’s Morning Show, where he questioned Olayinka’s conduct after a video surfaced showing him kneeling while serving Wike. Abati compared the act to what he described as excessive sycophancy among some political appointees during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, suggesting that such displays were common in government circles and often short-lived.
Reacting to the criticism, Olayinka took to social media to express his displeasure, accusing Abati of hypocrisy and professional failure during his tenure as media adviser to the former president. He argued that Abati’s fixation on Wike contrasted sharply with what he described as a lack of dedication in defending Jonathan against negative public perception while he was in office.
Olayinka further alleged that Abati’s challenges as a government spokesperson stemmed from greed, claiming it weakened his ability to effectively manage his office and protect his principal’s image. He suggested that personal shortcomings, rather than loyalty from aides, were responsible for the public relations difficulties faced by the Jonathan administration.
The heated exchange has since stirred reactions online, with observers weighing in on issues of loyalty, professionalism, and the enduring culture of political allegiance within Nigeria’s governance space.
