Governor Mohammed highlighted that peace and stability have been hallmarks of Bauchi State under his leadership, providing a foundation for unity, growth, and socio-economic progress. He stressed that since assuming office in 2019, his administration has treated every citizen equally, regardless of religion, ethnicity, or geography, and has implemented policies that strengthen religious freedom and mutual respect between the state’s predominantly Muslim population and Christian minority.
Describing Bauchi as a model of religious harmony, the governor attributed the state’s stability to a culture of tolerance and shared values, noting that residents of different faiths live together as one family. He emphasized that inclusivity guides his administration’s policies, appointments, and programs, and that traditional institutions, including newly created emirates and a chiefdom, play a key role in fostering cohesion and empowering communities.
Governor Mohammed assured the Christian community of continued fairness in political appointments and equitable distribution of projects, while highlighting that celebrations such as Christmas and Eid are observed collectively, reflecting the state’s shared values of love, compassion, generosity, and hope. CAN Bauchi State chairman, Rev. Dr. Abraham Damina Dimeus, commended the governor for his inclusive governance and for fulfilling promises such as completing the CAN Secretariat, allocating a new Christian cemetery, and improving infrastructure in Christian-majority areas.
The event featured goodwill messages from Christian representatives, who praised Governor Mohammed for ensuring that Christians were not marginalized, and several groups presented awards in recognition of his commitment to good governance and religious harmony.
