APC Mocks Kwankwaso, Says He Is Confused And Out Of Touch With Nigerian Politics.

According to Nivo News, the Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has brushed aside recent comments credited to Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso regarding his intention to closely monitor the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The party described the remarks as confusing and unnecessary, arguing that the former Kano State governor no longer holds meaningful influence within Nigeria’s political landscape. The APC maintained that Kwankwaso’s statements reflected a lack of political focus and direction.

Speaking on the development, the party’s Public Relations Officer in Kano State, Ahmad Aruwa, said the former NNPP presidential candidate appeared disconnected from current political realities, insisting that his recent utterances showed diminishing relevance in national politics.

He further questioned Kwankwaso’s authority within the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), noting that he is neither a recognised national leader of the party nor an official candidate in any upcoming election. Aruwa wondered under what capacity Kwankwaso intended to monitor INEC’s activities.

The APC spokesperson stated that the ruling party had already concluded strategic preparations ahead of future elections in Kano State, expressing strong confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and the integrity of the electoral umpire. He added that the party’s leadership in the state had been fully briefed and remained satisfied with ongoing arrangements.

Aruwa said the President’s approach to governance, particularly his emphasis on professionalism in appointments, further strengthened the APC’s confidence in the electoral process. He stressed that the party believed INEC would continue to act fairly and impartially.

He also cited past legal battles at the Supreme Court as evidence that Nigeria’s electoral system functions transparently, noting that even unfavorable judgments against the APC demonstrated the credibility of the process.

The APC accused Kwankwaso of attempting to erode public confidence in INEC, claiming his comments were driven by fear of defeat in future elections. The party urged Nigerians to disregard what it described as politically motivated statements.

Kwankwaso had earlier made the remarks at the NNPP national convention in Abuja, held after the re-election of the party’s national executives. Addressing party delegates and INEC representatives at the event, he praised the commission’s role in protecting Nigeria’s democracy but emphasised the need for vigilance ahead of the 2027 polls.

Reaffirming its position, the APC called on Nigerians to maintain trust in INEC’s professionalism, insisting that the ruling party remains fully prepared and confident as the next general elections approach.

Political Storm Brewing: SGF’s Office Implicated In Agency Controversy, Gbajabiamila Raises Alarm!.

Published

on

Fresh documentation acquired by Saturday Punch challenges the Presidency’s assertion that the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) is a fictitious entity. These records indicate that the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) acknowledged and facilitated official business for the council months prior to the Presidency’s public disavowal.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

  • Records reveal that the SGF’s office processed a request from Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who identified himself as the Director-General of the PFIPC, for office space within recovered federal properties.

  • A letter dated November 21, 2024, signed by Permanent Secretary Nnamdi Maurice Mbaeri on behalf of the SGF, formally forwarded this accommodation request to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

  • Registry evidence confirms that Adeyemi’s initial request was received by the SGF’s office on November 12, 2024, and subsequently acted upon nine days later.

  • In his correspondence, Adeyemi positioned the PFIPC as a vital federal agency acting as a “One-Stop-Shop” for coordinating national foreign investment promotion and facilitating public-private sector interaction.

Context of the Controversy

These documents emerge as Adeyemi faces criminal prosecution for allegedly operating a fraudulent agency, forging presidential appointment documents attributed to Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and managing 34 bank accounts in the names of purported government entities. Despite these surfaced documents, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, reaffirmed the Presidency’s position on Wednesday that the PFIPC is entirely fictitious, citing ongoing police investigations and criminal charges against Adeyemi as evidence of his fraudulent activities.

Adeboye’s Stance Clarified: “We Did Not Endorse Failure Or Insecurity,” Says Senior RCCG Pastor.

Published

Pastor Johnson Odesola, the Continental Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) for Continent 3, has publicly defended General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye regarding recent criticisms of his comments on Nigeria’s insecurity.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Clarification of Remarks

In a statement titled “Pastor Adeboye Deserves Fair Hearing, Not Unfair Criticism,” Odesola argued that the General Overseer’s comments were unfairly portrayed as a defense of President Bola Tinubu’s administration:

  • Odesola asserted that many critics formed opinions based on short social media clips rather than listening to the full remarks delivered at a Washington, D.C. gala.

  • He clarified that Pastor Adeboye acknowledged the spread of terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry across both Northern and Southern Nigeria and did not deny that insecurity has worsened.

  • The comment regarding the President not needing to “wear khaki and go and fight” was intended as an explanation of the Commander-in-Chief’s constitutional role, not an endorsement of failure or incompetence.

  • Odesola emphasized that Pastor Adeboye actually challenged security officials to produce results and urged authorities to confront the individuals who sponsor terrorism.

Addressing Critics and National Unity

Regarding the role of religious leaders, Odesola noted:

  • Religious leaders have historically provided moral guidance during national crises, and Adeboye has consistently counseled successive administrations regardless of political affiliation.

  • While Odesola acknowledged the public’s right to disagree with the cleric, he urged critics not to distort the comments.

  • He advocated for viewing insecurity as a matter requiring collective responsibility from the government, judiciary, security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and citizens, rather than reducing it to partisan politics.

  • Ultimately, Odesola suggested that Nigerians should focus on Adeboye’s call for accountability, decisive leadership, national unity, and the defeat of terror financiers.
