Dr. Kabir Kabo Usman, Director General of the International Center for Islamic Culture and Education (ICICE), the custodians of Al-Noor Mosque in Wuse II, Abuja, has passed away.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Family sources confirmed that he died on Saturday at a hospital in Manchester, England, following an illness. Details regarding his burial will be announced in due course.

Dr. Kabo Usman also served as the Director General of the Center for Management Development (CMD), a parastatal under the Ministry of National Planning, from 2010 to 2018.

He was 67 years old and hailed from Kabo town in Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State. Dr. Kabo attended Kabo Primary School and Government Secondary School, Dambatta, Kano State, completing his studies there in 1975.

He earned a B.Sc in Chemistry from Bayero University, Kano, in 1982, and later obtained his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Manchester University, where he also served as an academic staff member for approximately 20 years.

  • Because the budgets of agencies reporting to the President through the SGF must pass through the SGF’s office before reaching the National Assembly, the SGF should naturally have knowledge of such entities.

  • Unless there is a “dereliction of duty,” the SGF should have flagged the existence of the fake agency.

  • He suggested that the SGF might only fail to intervene if they feel significantly “sidelined” and choose to ignore the issue.

  • Lawal emphasized that if he were in that position and felt sidelined, he would immediately protest the matter directly to the President.
