“Nigeria Must Clean Up Its Image Abroad, Says Social Thought Leader Sam Amadi”.
Sam Amadi, Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, has urged Nigeria to leverage its creative and cultural assets to enhance its international image.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking in an interview on Arise Television on Thursday, Amadi addressed the recent partial travel ban imposed on Nigeria by the United States, emphasizing the need for strategic domestic and international responses.
“The increasing trend of Nigerians migrating to the United States is becoming worrisome. Any government would naturally be concerned about visitors entering under the pretext of education or tourism and then overstaying,” Amadi said. He suggested that Nigeria should first focus on domestic measures to reduce unnecessary emigration.
Amadi further highlighted the importance of harnessing Nigeria’s cultural influence. “We possess immense cultural capital in literature, music, and the arts, but these are not effectively utilized to present Nigeria positively on the global stage,” he said.
He also pointed to the significance of credible governance. “Countries like Ghana, which were not affected by the US travel restrictions, project a positive image abroad due to transparent elections and credible governments. The key is not power, but decency and accountability,” Amadi explained.
Concluding, he stressed that strengthening governance and electoral credibility would position Nigeria as more than an oil-exporting nation, opening opportunities for genuine international partnerships.

“Jonathan Returns!” – Defiant PDP Faction Shifts Venue To Solidify 2027 Presidential Bid.
In a swift move to bypass security restrictions, the PDP faction led by Tanimu Turaki successfully relocated its special convention and ratified former President Goodluck Jonathan as its 2027 presidential candidate. This development followed a police blockade earlier in the day that sealed off the group’s original choice, the A-Class Event Centre in Abuja.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The rescheduled event was remarkably brief, concluding in under 20 minutes, with Jonathan’s ally, Fred Agbedi, accepting the nomination certificate on his behalf. Notably, the former president was not in attendance. The ratification process was formally moved by the faction’s Forum of State Chairmen chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, and seconded by former Aviation Minister, Senator Sanusi Daggash. Key figures supporting the Turaki faction, including Prof. Jerry Gana and Adolphus Wabara, were also in attendance.
This logistical pivot was necessitated by the police enforcement of a directive from the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike. Wike had previously warned owners of hotels and event centers against hosting what he characterized as “illegal political organizations,” specifically targeting factions not recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In accordance with this stance, security forces had effectively cordoned off all routes leading to the original venue from Wuse and Maitama, leaving it unclear if the organizers would proceed elsewhere until the convention was eventually held at a new location.

PDP In Turmoil: Police Storm Party Headquarters As Power Struggle Between Wike And Opposition Camps Explodes
Tension gripped Abuja on Saturday as security personnel blocked all access roads to the A-Class Event Centre, the planned venue for a special convention organized by a PDP faction loyal to former Minister of Special Duties, Tanimu Turaki. The event was intended to ratify former President Goodluck Jonathan as the faction’s presidential candidate.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Police deployed multiple patrol vehicles to seal off routes leading to the venue from both Wuse and Maitama, preventing faction members from reaching the location and causing significant travel disruptions for other motorists in the area. This crackdown follows a recent warning issued by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who cautioned event centers and hotels against hosting what he termed illegal political organizations, citing security concerns. As of Saturday, security forces remained stationed at the site, and it remains uncertain if the organizers will attempt to hold the convention elsewhere.

Shocking Claim! Bashir El-Rufai Says His Father Would Have Quit Rather Than Accept Tinubu’s.
Bashir El-Rufai, son of the former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has dismissed suggestions that his father’s recent criticisms of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration stem from his failed ministerial bid.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The controversy began when an user, @ie_mooh, asked, “Let’s be honest here please. Do you think Mallam Elrufai will still fight APC if he has gotten the ministerial position?”
In response, Bashir contended that even if his father had been appointed as a minister, he would not have stayed in the role for an extended period. He argued that the former governor would have eventually grown dissatisfied with the government’s direction and voluntarily resigned.
Furthermore, Bashir criticized the composition of the current federal cabinet, describing it as effectively operating like a “cartel.” He added that his father would have found it difficult to work comfortably within such a setup.
He wrote, “Maybe, maybe not. One thing I know for certain is that he would have immediately resigned since, especially after realizing he is a minister in a cabinet that is in effect a Cartel. Headed by the Chief importer”.
