Arteta Targets Everton Victory To Crown Six Years Of Arsenal Revival.
Mikel Arteta has made it clear that he is eager to mark his sixth anniversary as Arsenal manager with a crucial victory over Everton when the Gunners travel to Goodison Park this weekend.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Nivo News, Arsenal moved back to the top of the Premier League standings after edging Crystal Palace 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium earlier this week, a result that reignited momentum ahead of the festive run of fixtures.
As Arteta approaches six years in charge, the Spanish tactician insists the sweeping transformation he has overseen at the club has produced a squad capable of reclaiming domestic dominance. A win against Everton would ensure Arsenal sit top of the table at Christmas, a position that would further strengthen belief that the club can finally end its long wait for a league title since the historic Invincibles triumph of the 2003–2004 season.
Although Arteta’s only major silverware so far remains the FA Cup lifted in 2020, his impact at the club has been far-reaching. Arsenal have re-established themselves as consistent title contenders and a regular presence in the UEFA Champions League, shaking off memories of a six-year absence from the Premier League’s top four between 2017 and 2022. The North London side have also finished second in the league for three successive seasons.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Friday, Arteta highlighted the broader progress made under his leadership, pointing to growth in the club’s stature, revenue, squad value and overall sporting success, despite the absence of additional major trophies. He expressed confidence that the team’s consistency shows Arsenal are firmly on the right path.
However, the title charge has faced recent challenges. A draw at Sunderland, followed by another stalemate against Chelsea and a damaging defeat away to Aston Villa, saw Arsenal surrender a two-point advantage over Manchester City. That loss remains only their second in the league this season.
With a demanding festive schedule looming, Arsenal are set to play six matches between December 20 and January 8, a period that could significantly shape their title ambitions. When asked what he wanted for Christmas, the 43-year-old manager offered a straightforward response, insisting that winning every game was his sole focus, adding that success on the pitch would naturally lift his mood and energy.

Shehu Sani Jokes PDP Crisis: Makinde, Bala Mohammed Could Face ‘Hourly Loyalty Checks’.
Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has weighed in on the escalating crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), joking that the party’s remaining governors may soon have to constantly reassure each other of their loyalty.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Sani shared his remark on X on Wednesday, noting that if PDP is eventually left with only two governors—Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed—they might find themselves frequently checking in with one another.
“Now that the PDP has only two governors remaining, the two will have to be calling each other every hour to be sure…with words like ‘I hope we are still together’ or ‘I hope you still dey,’” he wrote.
His comment comes amid rising tensions following a Court of Appeal ruling, which upheld earlier judgments preventing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising the results of the party’s disputed national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, in November 2025.
The court found that the convention violated both statutory requirements and the PDP constitution, further deepening divisions within the party.

Speaking during a meeting with Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Cubana clarified that the movement is not a political party, but a platform supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“The unique aspect of this movement is that it’s composed mostly of young businessmen, not politicians. Our mission is to uplift our communities by educating and reorienting people about our collective path forward,” he said.
Cubana stressed the importance of unity and constructive engagement with the Federal Government. “We believe in the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. As young professionals and successful entrepreneurs, we are letting our people know that we are fully behind the President and his re-election. Igbo voices must be included at the center, and divisive politics should be avoided,” he added.
He highlighted the need for regional development and connection to federal initiatives, noting, “There must be balance and recognition of every region. Our communities need access to infrastructure, gas, and rail systems.”
Cubana further emphasized that meaningful progress requires collaboration with the government. “Opposition without engagement won’t leave a lasting impact. The City Boy Movement stands on Tinubu’s mandate. Our aim is the advancement of Igbo land, and it is our responsibility to educate our people. We are solidly behind Tinubu,” he concluded.
