He stated that his political identity is rooted in grassroots engagement, adding that any future action would speak for itself when the time comes. Fintiri emphasized that he is currently focused on strengthening the PDP, which he described as the party that provided him with the platform to lead the state.

The governor’s comments come against the backdrop of heightened political realignments across parts of the country, particularly in Rivers State, where four members of the House of Representatives have recently defected from the PDP to the APC.

The lawmakers, who officially declared their switch of allegiance, are Manuchim Umezuruike representing Port Harcourt I Federal Constituency; Boniface Emerengwa of Ikwerre/Emuoha Federal Constituency; Awake-Inombek Abiante of Andoni/Opobo Federal Constituency; and Boma Goodhead representing Asari-Toru Federal Constituency.

He warned against dragging the state into fresh tension, accusing the state government of attempting to revive old allegations for political advantage.

He also urged residents, especially affected families, not to allow their pain to be used for political gains, insisting it is unjust to associate Saraki with the crime.
