Lagos Sets December 20 Traffic Diversion For Urgent Pedestrian Bridge Repair.
According to Nivo News, the Lagos State Government has announced a temporary traffic diversion to facilitate repair work on the damaged pedestrian bridge at Tincan First Gate, Apapa (inward Mile 2). The Ministry of Transportation disclosed on Wednesday that the repairs are scheduled for Saturday, December 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and will be executed in two phases.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
During the first phase, which involves lifting and placing bridge beams, the ministry stated that the road from Tincan, Apapa to Mile 2 will be completely closed for approximately 20 minutes while the beams are positioned. Traffic will resume immediately once the operation is completed.
The second phase, covering the lifting and installation of bridge slabs, will see traffic from Tincan, Apapa to Mile 2 diverted to a single lane about 50 meters before the work area, with full access restored 50 meters beyond it. Vehicles traveling from Mile 2 to Tincan, Apapa will continue to move freely throughout this phase.
Motorists have been urged to exercise patience and cooperate with traffic officials, as the temporary full and partial road closures are necessary to ensure the safe repair of the pedestrian bridge by the Federal Ministry of Works, Office of the Federal Controller, Lagos.
