AFCON 2025 is scheduled to commence on December 21 across several host cities in Morocco, and tournament organisers say the restrictions are aimed at ensuring maximum safety, maintaining order and providing a seamless matchday experience for supporters.

Information made available by CAF indicates that all spectators will undergo mandatory security checks before gaining entry into stadiums. Fans have been advised to avoid bringing prohibited items, as doing so could lead to delays or outright refusal of access on match days.

CAF explained that the guidelines form part of wider security measures designed to safeguard supporters, players, officials and all stakeholders throughout Africa’s premier football competition.

Items strictly banned from AFCON 2025 venues include alcoholic drinks, illegal substances and drugs, weapons and sharp objects, fireworks and other pyrotechnic materials, glass bottles or containers, as well as flammable substances.
