Rent Row: Landlord Seeks Court Approval To Remove 2Baba, Natasha From Duplex.

According to Nivo News, popular Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, and his wife, Natasha Idibia, are reportedly embroiled in a legal dispute with their landlord over alleged unpaid rent on their Abuja residence.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The property in question is a five-bedroom semi-detached duplex with a room boy’s quarters, situated at No. 27 Edwin Clerk Crescent, Guzape, within the Federal Capital Territory. The development comes months after Natasha publicly claimed that the house was a gift from her grandfather, a statement that led many to assume the couple were the rightful owners of the residence.

However, fresh information now circulating suggests that the Idibias do not own the property but are tenants. Documents said to have emanated from the court reportedly indicate that the landlord, dissatisfied with the current situation, has approached the judiciary seeking approval to evict the celebrity couple from the premises.

The legal move is allegedly connected to outstanding rent obligations that are yet to be settled. Further details contained in the court documents reveal that the tenancy was initially secured for a two-year period after an upfront payment of ₦40 million, with an agreement that a second ₦40 million would be paid on or before the end of December 2025 as the full rental value of the property.

In addition to the rent concerns, the documents also allege that professional fees amounting to ₦7 million, reportedly owed for facilitating the tenancy, remain unpaid despite repeated demands. It is further claimed that a cheque issued in settlement of the fees was returned unpaid, a development that reportedly worsened the dispute.

The landlord, through legal representatives, is said to have granted a seven-day window for the alleged outstanding professional fees to be paid, warning that failure to comply would leave no option but to pursue further legal action to recover the funds.

As of the time of filing this report, neither 2Baba nor his wife has publicly responded to the latest claims surrounding the property dispute.
