Popular Nigerian filmmaker and actress, Funke Akindele, has issued a firm warning to fans against recording and sharing scenes from her latest cinema release, Behind The Scenes, describing the act as piracy that could damage the project and those involved in its production.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to Nivo News, Akindele made the appeal on Saturday after noticing that clips from cinema screenings of the movie had begun circulating on social media, particularly from viewers outside Nigeria. She stressed that recording any part of the film inside the cinema, no matter how brief, amounts to copyright infringement.

The award-winning filmmaker expressed deep concern over the scale of investment committed to the project, revealing that over ₦1 billion was spent on its production. She noted that unauthorised recordings could negatively affect the film’s performance and potentially lead to serious financial losses.

Akindele urged movie lovers to show genuine support by watching the film strictly in cinemas without filming or posting any scenes online. She advised fans to limit photos to designated cinema display areas and encouraged them to share reviews and feedback instead of video clips.

She explained that respecting this guideline is a way of honouring the time, effort, and resources invested by the cast and crew in bringing the film to life. The actress further appealed to fans to spread the message among friends and family to help curb both direct and indirect piracy.

Behind The Scenes explores the emotional strain, personal sacrifices, and hidden struggles that often come with fame and success. The film features a strong cast that includes Tobi Bakre, Iyabo Ojo, Scarlet Gomez, and Ini Dima Okojie.

The movie premiered in the United Kingdom on December 4, 2025, before its official release in cinemas across Nigeria on December 12, 2025.

Speaking in an interview with Bollywood star Tara Sutaria at the Cannes 2026 festival, the thespian opened up about storytelling, breaking stereotypes, and her creative origins. Reflecting on her early start, she revealed that acting was never her initial goal. “My first experience on TV was at age eight. I think film chose me. I didn’t think I was going to be an actor; that was not a dream,” she admitted, noting that fashion was actually her first true love.

During the discussion, Nnaji also tackled the industry double standards faced by women, pointing out that when a woman is clear about her vision and demands what she wants, she is often unfairly labeled as “difficult.” She also dismissed the misconception that all performers are loud, stating that not every actor is an extrovert and that many prefer staying indoors and sleeping.

Looking toward the future of cinema, the filmmaker expressed optimism about the growing representation of women behind the camera. “We now get the opportunities to tell stories from a woman’s perspective, which has been drowned out for centuries,” she stated, adding that the industry has barely begun to scratch the surface of female-led storytelling.

Despite landing her first television role at just eight years old, Nnaji confessed that fashion—not acting—was her primary passion.

Beyond her personal journey, Nnaji took a direct swipe at systemic stereotypes, calling out how assertive women are misjudged in the creative space. “When a woman wants what she wants, how she wants it, they say she’s difficult,” she observed. She further demystified the typical celebrity persona, explaining that many actors are actually introverts who treasure their peace and sleep.

Now a proud voice for female filmmakers, the mother-of-one celebrated the rising wave of women stepping into directors’ chairs. She emphasized that bringing female perspectives to the screen is an overdue revolution, concluding that a massive influx of rising female filmmakers is just getting started.

Anthony Joshua Yet To Sign, Fury Grows Frustrated Over Delayed Mega Fight.

The long-awaited heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury has once again been delayed, despite reports suggesting the fight is close to being finalised.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to a BBC report, Fury’s camp has already signed the contract, while Joshua is yet to put pen to paper, casting fresh uncertainty over the long-talked-about all-British showdown.

Tension between both fighters resurfaced after Fury defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Joshua was present ringside, and Fury climbed the ropes to gesture toward him, but Joshua remained seated.

Speaking afterwards, Fury expressed frustration over the situation.

“He didn’t want the smoke. He came ringside to make the fight. If it were me, I’d have jumped in the ring. Ten years in the making and still there’s uncertainty if it’s going to happen next,” Fury said.

The WBC heavyweight champion even hinted that he could consider retirement if the long-awaited bout with Joshua fails to materialise again.

Joshua’s hesitation is reportedly linked to recent inactivity and personal setbacks. The former world champion has fought just once in the past 18 months, stopping Jake Paul in six rounds in December.

He also survived a tragic car accident that same month, which claimed the lives of two close friends.

A potential tune-up fight against Kristian Prenga in Riyadh on July 25 is being considered as preparation for a possible showdown with Fury.

However, Fury dismissed the idea of warm-up fights, insisting fighters must stay ready at all times.

“We’ve all had problems, that’s life. Taking interim fights, you can get chinned by anyone,” he said.
