The Sky Blue Stars enter Matchday 17 with a mixed record of seven wins, one draw, and eight losses from 16 league games. Despite the inconsistent form, Folarin emphasized that his players are committed to ending the first round on a strong note.
“Our goal is to avoid defeat in the remaining matches of the first round,” Folarin told the club’s media team. “We will go to Bayelsa United ready to fight and aim for the result we need.”
The fixture between Bayelsa United and Remo Stars is scheduled for Sunday at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, with both sides seeking crucial points as the season intensifies.
Meanwhile, Rivers United technical adviser Finidi George lauded his squad following their 2-1 away victory over Plateau United in Jos. The win propelled the Pride of Rivers into second place on the NPFL table, keeping them in strong contention for the title.
“Securing this win is significant,” Finidi told the club’s media. “The first half was a bit challenging, but in the second half, we intensified our press, controlled the second ball, and maximized our space, which ultimately gave us the edge.”
Rivers United will aim to continue their momentum when they host Wikki Tourists in their upcoming league match on Sunday.
