Oseni made the remarks during the Morning Show on Arise TV, reacting to a viral video in which Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka expressed concern over the size of Seyi Tinubu’s security detail.
In the video, Soyinka described being confronted by what he termed a “battalion” of heavily armed personnel accompanying Seyi at a hotel in Ikoyi, Lagos. He admitted that he initially thought a film shoot was underway due to the overwhelming number of security operatives present.
Responding to Soyinka’s account, Oseni criticized what he called a double standard in enforcing the president’s order on VIP security, declaring, “Them no born anybody well to remove police protection from Seyi Tinubu.” When co-anchor Dr. Reuben Abati questioned whether this included the IGP, Oseni reiterated his stance.
