According to Nivo News, the decision was ratified through a communiqué released after the party’s 24th Extra-Ordinary National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja on December 4, 2025. The NEC, serving as the party’s highest decision-making body, upheld the earlier expulsion recommended by the National Working Committee (NWC).
Peter, who represents the Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, was removed from the party following multiple petitions and verified video evidence accusing him of anti-party behavior. The party described his actions as a breach of Section 36(7), Article (b, f & o) of its constitution.
YPP reiterated its firm stance on maintaining discipline and unity within its ranks, emphasizing its zero-tolerance policy for conduct that undermines party cohesion.
During the meeting, the NEC also approved the appointment of new national officers to fill vacant positions across the party structure, in line with the provisions of Section 82 of the Electoral Act, 2022. Additionally, a unanimous vote of confidence was passed on the National Chairman, Bishop Amakiri.
