Residents rushed to the scene to rescue the children trapped beneath the vehicle, expressing shock and grief over the accident. Following the tragedy, community members blocked the road in protest, highlighting the absence of a functioning school in Egbolo and criticizing the dangers their children face traveling long distances to neighboring villages for education.

A bereaved parent blamed government neglect for the loss, urging immediate action to prevent similar incidents. Usman Idrisu, a local youth leader, said the truck, which was also carrying building materials, failed to ascend a hill after crossing a bridge, rolled backward, and plunged into the river, resulting in four fatalities and multiple injuries.

Idrisu lamented that despite Egbolo’s population, the community lacks a primary school, forcing children to undertake perilous journeys to access basic education. He appealed to Governor Ahmed Ododo to establish a school in the area to safeguard the lives of the community’s children.

reports that he will be contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The businessman has already obtained the APC expression of interest and nomination forms for the House of Representatives race.

Meanwhile, Chief Priest recently sparked discussions online after sharing his opinion on politicians who enjoy massive support on social media.

He argued that online popularity does not necessarily translate into electoral success, noting that many politicians who are widely praised on social media often lose at the polls, while those heavily criticised online sometimes end up winning elections.

He made the remarks on his Instagram story, stressing that online reactions are not a true reflection of voting outcomes.

He cited Lagos lawmaker Desmond Elliot as an example, claiming that despite facing heavy criticism online in the past, he still secured electoral victory.

According to him, “People wey una dey love for social media no dey ever win election na the ones wey dem dey abuse online na them dey always win. I use Hon. Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed satisfaction with the Supreme Court’s judgment on the leadership dispute within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

reports that in its ruling on Thursday, the apex court affirmed the faction of the ADC led by former Senate President, David Mark.

The Supreme Court also set aside an earlier order directing the party to maintain the status quo ante bellum while the leadership crisis was being resolved.

In a unanimous decision delivered by a five-member panel headed by Justice Mohammed Lawal Garba, the court held that the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal exceeded its jurisdiction by issuing the order after it had already dismissed the case brought before it by one of the factions.

Reacting to the judgment, Atiku congratulated David Mark on the outcome but cautioned that the ADC must not become complacent, stressing that significant challenges still lie ahead.

He said the ruling should be seen as a victory for Nigerians and urged supporters of the party to remain committed, noting that the struggle for national rescue is ongoing.

“Even as we welcome the Supreme Court’s firm affirmation of David Mark and the leadership of our great party, the African Democratic Congress, let no one be lulled into complacency. The road ahead remains long in our cause to take back and rescue our country.

“This victory belongs to Nigerians, the courageous millions who refuse to surrender their future. We thank them, and we urge them to remain steadfast, because the struggle is far from over. As we press on, let this truth guide us: eternal vigilance is the price of liberty,” he said.
