Over 2.4 Million Nigerians Complete Voter Registration As Osun Leads The Nation.

According to Nivo News, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Wednesday that a total of 2,449,475 Nigerians have completed the continuous voter registration (CVR) process, encompassing both online and physical registration methods. Osun State led the nation with 193,026 completed registrations, followed by Imo State with 144,209 and Kano State with 142,433. Other top-ranking states included Sokoto with 132,584, Lagos with 115,334, Borno with 112,226, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with 106,855. Kogi recorded 97,012, Jigawa 95,543, and Zamfara 90,739. Katsina posted 87,661, while Kaduna recorded 82,421.

In the southern states, Delta registered 79,495, Ogun 77,014, Oyo 68,559, Akwa Ibom 68,464, and Rivers 63,621. Adamawa had 52,381, Kwara 50,221, and Yobe 49,766. Benue completed 46,802 registrations, Bayelsa 41,856, and Bauchi 37,749. Ekiti posted 33,393, Gombe 32,890, Nasarawa 31,862, Ebonyi 29,102, and Edo 27,602. Plateau recorded 25,301, Taraba 18,731, Enugu 17,234, Ondo 16,709, Cross River 15,339, and Abia 13,875.

Anambra State remained at zero due to the suspension of voter registration following the recently concluded governorship election, in accordance with Section 9(6) of the Electoral Act 2022. The CVR is scheduled to continue until August 2026.

Recent reports highlighted growing voter registration in northern states, largely fueled by extensive awareness campaigns led by community-based organizations, religious leaders, and local government officials. Since the exercise began on August 18, 2025, southern states, particularly Osun and Lagos, have consistently maintained high registration numbers, while northern states are now showing increased participation.
