Speaking from Abuja, ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi emphasized that the party had “no dispute whatsoever” regarding Atiku’s registration at Jada 1 Ward, Jada Local Government Area.

Atiku’s formal entry into the ADC over the weekend marked a significant political move ahead of the 2027 general elections. Following his declaration, reports emerged alleging that his registration had not been conducted by a properly constituted ward executive.

The reports cited a statement purportedly from the ADC’s Director of Media and Public Affairs, Christopher Okechukwu, claiming that Atiku’s registration was invalid because it was carried out by individuals not recognized by the party’s national leadership. The statement reportedly urged Atiku to complete his registration with authentic party executives in his area.

Reacting firmly, Abdullahi refuted the claims, noting that the individual quoted in the report “does not exist in any ADC structure nationwide.” He stressed that the national leadership had not raised any concerns about Atiku’s membership status and that no one authorized to speak for the party had made the statements attributed to Okechukwu.

Abdullahi also warned that publishing unauthorized claims could mislead the public, undermine confidence in institutions recognized by both the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and weaken Nigeria’s multiparty democracy. He added that such reports could call into question the integrity of the media.

Describing politics as a reciprocal process, Wike stressed that the era of empty promises was over:

“Leaders must demonstrate their commitment to delivering good governance. You cannot make promises during elections and vanish afterward without fulfilling them. We asked you to support Tinubu, starting with the area council elections. On February 21, you came through, delivering 133 of the 135 polling units in the council for Tinubu. What more can we say but thank you? You have done your part; we will now do ours. Abaji people have spoken, and they spoke decisively,” he said.
