Lagos Police Fires Back: CP Moshood Never Defied Court Order In Nestoil Saga.

The police noted that the referenced court order was officially received at the Command headquarters at 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025, and was immediately sent to the Police Legal Department for verification. According to the Command, the confirmation report was returned the next evening, November 21.
Once verification was completed, all officers deployed to the Nestoil premises were withdrawn the same day, in total compliance with the court’s instruction. The Command said it was therefore shocking to see reports suggesting that the Commissioner of Police disregarded the judicial order.
Clarifying further, the statement emphasized that CP Moshood did not visit Nestoil’s premises on November 20 or 21, adding that the police involvement was strictly limited to providing security for the Court Sheriff during the execution of a valid court order, while ensuring peace and order. The police reiterated that they neither obstructed nor interfered with the enforcement process.
The Command also made it clear that it lacks the legal power to seal or unseal any premises, including those belonging to Nestoil. Its statutory responsibility, it stressed, is to protect judicial officers and authorized agents carrying out court-enforced actions.
Describing attempts to drag the Lagos Commissioner of Police into the corporate dispute as unnecessary and mischievous, SP Adebisi reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to due process. The statement further noted that the CP is a law-abiding officer who will never violate a court order.
The Command urged the public to disregard the misleading reports, assuring residents that it remains dedicated to upholding the rule of law and respecting judicial authority.
