A dramatic scene unfolded on Thursday as Justice James Omotosho directed security operatives to remove the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, from his courtroom after a heated exchange. According to Nivo News, the order was issued when Kanu raised his voice and refused to conduct himself in an orderly manner during proceedings.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The judge noted that many of the concerns Kanu presented had already been addressed repeatedly in previous appearances, stressing that the court remained bound by earlier rulings. He added that matters relating to the Court of Appeal and the request for a stay of proceedings would not be entertained, explaining that the current case does not fall under the categories of bail being sought. Justice Omotosho maintained that the hearing phase had been concluded and that judgment would be delivered.

Kanu disagreed, insisting that he retained the right to submit a final written address. The judge urged him to remain calm, but the IPOB leader demanded that the court show him the legal basis for waiving such a right. At one point, Kanu refused to hand the microphone to operatives of the Department of State Services despite the judge’s directive.

As his defiance continued, Justice Omotosho instructed security personnel to escort him out of the courtroom. While acknowledging that a defendant has a constitutional right to be present during trial, the judge remarked that Kanu’s unruly conduct was consistent with previous disruptions, noting instances where he had attempted to silence his own lawyers.

After several unsuccessful attempts to get him to behave appropriately, the judge ordered the proceedings to continue in Kanu’s absence.

According to the source, the twins maintained a daily routine of speaking around midnight, but the conversation took a sudden turn that night when unusual activity was noticed at the General’s end.

He said the line went dead abruptly after the General paused during the call, apparently due to the unfolding situation at the base.

The twin brother reportedly made repeated attempts to reconnect, sending messages and calling continuously, but received no response throughout the night.

“He kept trying until about 4 am, but there was no answer,” the source said.

The family later confirmed the tragedy after a senior military officer contacted them around 6:30 am, informing them that the base had come under attack and that the Brigade Commander was among those killed.

The relative described the incident as devastating, noting that communication had broken down during the assault.

The late General was later buried alongside other fallen soldiers in Maiduguri, Borno State.

He wrote, “Chiemeka Chibuzor’s wedding is hereby suspended. More than a thousand applications. No more wedding pending further directive from me.”

The cleric had earlier this week publicly invited proposals for her marriage, setting conditions that included the suitor being young and in good physical and mental health, alongside promised financial support and housing benefits.

He also said the couple would enjoy lifelong support, including shared property ownership and periodic welfare checks from church members.

The development follows a similar arrangement recently conducted by the church involving a non-verbal autistic man who was married in a ceremony organised by the ministry.
