In a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to travel to Kebbi State on Wednesday to deliver the government’s condolences and support to state officials and affected families. He also commended Governor Mohammed Nasir Idris for the efforts taken to prevent the attack, noting that security agencies rely heavily on the cooperation of citizens and local communities to operate effectively.
The President condemned the breach that led to the abduction of students from a boarding school in Maga, urging residents across the country—particularly those in areas facing persistent threats—to provide information that can aid the military, police and DSS in safeguarding their communities. He described the deaths of the troops as a painful loss and stressed that the disruption of the girls’ education by violent elements is unacceptable.
Tinubu affirmed that he has ordered security agencies to act swiftly and ensure the girls are rescued without delay, adding that national security efforts depend significantly on the support and intelligence shared by the public.
