Church Fires Back: “We Were Victims, Not Culprits” In 2007 Robbery Case.
The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has refuted renewed claims linking the church to a criminal case dating back to 2007. According to Nivo News, the ministry clarified that a man identified as Femi Jimoh, who was arrested on December 25, 2007, after admitting to coordinating robberies while posing as a pastor, had no connection to the church.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
At the time, the case was reported in a weekend publication after Jimoh confessed to the crimes, which included the recovery of stolen vehicles and various items by the police. In a statement, MFM emphasized that Jimoh “was never a pastor, staff member, or representative” of the ministry, describing him as an impostor who exploited the church’s name until he was apprehended through appropriate legal procedures.
The ministry noted that internal inquiries exposed Jimoh’s actions, after which he was handed over to the Sabo Police Division for arrest and prosecution. MFM criticized what it termed a “coordinated attempt to recycle misinformation” by some online commentators and blogs, pointing out that several posts have wrongly redated the incident to 2017 and portrayed it as a scandal involving the church.
The church expressed concern that an 18-year-old matter is being revived to stir controversy, stressing that the facts clearly show MFM was a victim of impersonation in 2007 and continues to face misinformation today. It urged the public and media organisations to verify information before circulating it, warning that spreading false narratives erodes public trust.
Reaffirming its dedication to transparency, integrity, and cooperation with authorities, the ministry maintained that its mission remains focused on spiritual growth, prayer, and discipline, rather than unfounded allegations.
