Makinde 2027 Presidential Ambitions Signal Boost As Supporters Take Over Adamasingba Stadium.
According to Nivo News, banners endorsing Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for the 2027 presidential election dominated the Ibadan venue of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) national convention on Friday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
At Adamasingba Stadium, the designated site for the PDP’s November 15–16 convention, large posters featuring Makinde’s image were prominently displayed at the entrance and throughout the facility. One banner, credited to a group calling itself Lana Fun Seyi, boldly stated: “Seyi Makinde for President.” Another, from Fapetu Stephen of Ido Local Government, read: “Relax, Seyi Makinde will fix Nigeria 2027.”
The displays immediately attracted the attention of delegates, party leaders, and observers arriving in Ibadan for the convention. While speculation about Makinde’s presidential ambitions has persisted for months, the governor has maintained that he will reveal his plans “when the time is right” and dismissed earlier rumours as “unsolicited commentary,” stressing that he does not need anyone’s permission to discuss his political future.
The stadium was also adorned with posters promoting other PDP leaders vying for national positions. Campaign materials supporting Kabiru Turaki, a former Minister of Special Duties contesting the party’s national chairmanship, were displayed at key locations, while supporters of former Deputy National Chairman Taofeek Arapaja promoted his bid for PDP National Secretary.
The vibrant displays by various state chapters, aspirant groups, and supporters created a lively pre-convention atmosphere as thousands of delegates converged in Ibadan. The convention is set to elect a new National Working Committee (NWC) that will guide the party’s activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

PFIPC Scandal Explodes! ‘If Gbajabiamila Goes, These Four Top Officials Must Follow Him Out the Door!’.
Jiti Ogunye, the legal consultant to Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, has pushed back against calls for his principal to resign over the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) scandal, arguing such demands are unjustified.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
-
Minimal Interaction: Ogunye asserts that Gbajabiamila’s office had the least official engagement with the “fake DG” of the PFIPC, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, when compared to other high-ranking government officials.
-
Wider Accountability: He contends that if Gbajabiamila were to resign due to this controversy, several other officials with more documented, direct interactions with Adeyemi would also be required to vacate their positions.
-
Specific Officials Named: Ogunye explicitly identified the Director-General of the Budget Office, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), and the Accountant-General of the Federation as officials whose offices had deeper dealings with the individual in question.
-
Unfortunate Fixation: The legal consultant characterized the public focus on Gbajabiamila as “unfortunate,” noting that those who processed requests and generated correspondence for Adeyemi are in a better position to address the scandal’s questions.
-
Questioning the Logic: He challenged the rationale for targeting the Chief of Staff, questioning whether the public expects all identified officials involved in the “paper trail” to leave office simultaneously.
