Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is suffering from what he described as “leadership decay,” warning that the party’s survival depends on confronting its internal rot.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during a television interview on Tuesday, Fayose asserted that the PDP’s problems have reached a critical stage, claiming the opposition party is “decaying from the head.” According to Nivo News, the outspoken politician compared the PDP’s crisis to a fish rotting from its head, stressing that without addressing leadership failure, the party cannot recover.

“When fish decays from the body, you can salvage it, but when it decays from the head, it’s beyond repair. The PDP has already decayed from the head,” he lamented. Fayose maintained that he has consistently warned party leaders about internal disunity and poor leadership, which he believes are destroying the PDP from within.

He reaffirmed his loyalty to the party but admitted that he supports the current administration as a Yoruba man. “I’ve never deceived Nigerians about the state of the PDP. I will not leave the party, but I’ve said repeatedly that the PDP is in trouble,” Fayose noted.

The former governor also claimed that several PDP governors were already defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), just as he had earlier predicted. “After my last appearance here three weeks ago, Governor Diri left. He was the chairman of the PDP campaign screening committee but left. The Enugu governor has also left, and the governor of Taraba, who was handed over by the president to the APC national chairman,” he revealed.

Fayose further alleged that more defections are on the way, insisting that the Governor of Plateau State would soon leave the PDP to join the ruling party. “Another one will leave very soon—the Governor of Plateau. After him, another governor will also go. When that happens, I will remind you again,” he said confidently.

Oloyede said many of the issues recorded during the mock exercise were due to poor assessment of centres by some technical officials.

He further stated that incentive packages would be awarded to teams that perform exceptionally, particularly in handling exam materials and submitting timely reports.

Reiterating JAMB’s zero-tolerance stance on malpractice, he warned candidates against bringing prohibited items into examination halls.
