Tinubu’s Ekweremadu Rescue Mission Sparks Political Suspicion Ahead Of 2027.

According to Nivo News, social critic and activist Mahdi Shehu has alleged that President Bola Tinubu’s recent interest in securing the release of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, from a United Kingdom prison, is a calculated political strategy aimed at capturing the South-East ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement shared via , Shehu argued that Tinubu’s reported decision to form a high-powered committee to engage the UK government was not inspired by compassion, but rather by a desire to win over the Igbo electorate.

He questioned the timing of the move, noting that Nigeria currently has no substantive ambassador to the United Kingdom — a gap that could have facilitated more effective diplomatic intervention if the motive were purely humanitarian.

Shehu also criticized the perceived selectiveness of the initiative, stating that many Nigerians are serving sentences in foreign prisons without any effort from the government to secure their release. He claimed that such individuals are ignored because they hold no political advantage for the President.

“The UK justice system is nearly watertight, and the chance to resolve the Ekweremadu matter was lost long ago,” Shehu wrote. “Tinubu’s latest move appears to be a publicity stunt to portray concern ahead of the elections. Ekweremadu remains one of the most visible Igbo figures not aligned with the current administration, and bringing him on board could symbolize the final capture of the Igbos politically,” he added.

Shehu concluded that the President’s focus on Ekweremadu, while overlooking other imprisoned Nigerians worldwide, exposes what he called a “visible miscalculation” driven by politics rather than principle.

TRAGEDY COMPOUNDED: 15 Dead In Benue, But Alia And PDP Prefer Fighting Each Other Than Finding Answers!.

Following the tragic murder of 15 residents in the Efeyi Ugboju community of Otukpo Local Government Area on Tuesday, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have engaged in a bitter exchange of accusations.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In separate releases on Wednesday, the opposition party and its 2027 gubernatorial hopeful, Michael Aondoakaa, slammed Governor Alia, alleging a lack of effective leadership and an inability to safeguard citizens. Conversely, the governor hit back, claiming that the opposition is cynically capitalizing on a security disaster for political mileage.

Speaking through its Publicity Secretary, Bright Antyo, the PDP condemned the administration’s sluggish reaction to ongoing violence. The party asserted that true leadership requires decisive action and empathy rather than empty words—qualities they claim are missing under the current administration.

Aondoakaa further charged that the state government is prioritizing the suppression of dissent over tackling the root causes of insecurity. He lamented that communities remain vulnerable to constant invasions and farmer displacements, yet officials treat public criticism as a graver threat than the attackers themselves, noting that the bloodshed persists despite government denials.

In his defense, Governor Alia, via his Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula, argued that the crisis demands collective compassion and unity instead of partisan assaults. The governor emphasized that his administration remains deeply committed to tackling insecurity by providing security agencies with robust logistics, intelligence support, personnel motivation, and collaboration with local vigilante networks to restore lasting peace.
