Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and ex-presidential aspirant, Kingsley Moghalu, has clarified that he was not the Labour Party candidate in the recently concluded Anambra State governorship election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement shared on X on Tuesday, Moghalu expressed concern over media reports that incorrectly identified him as the party’s candidate and, in some instances, used his photograph alongside the coverage.

Describing the reports as inaccurate, Moghalu explained that there was confusion between him and George Moghalu, who was the actual Labour Party candidate in the election.

He stated, “I am distressed to have seen several news reports citing ‘Kingsley Moghalu’ as the Labour Party candidate in this election, with some running my photograph alongside the articles. These reports are false, unfortunate, and appear to stem from lazy reporting, as they have conflated me with Chief George Moghalu, the actual candidate.”

Moghalu further emphasized that he is not affiliated with any political party and did not contest in the Anambra governorship election held on November 8, 2025. He noted that he stepped away from partisan politics in September 2022, prior to the 2023 presidential election, and that he was the Young Progressives Party (YPP) presidential candidate in 2019.
