“Votes Were Sold Like Goods!” – ADC Rejects Soludo’s Victory In Anambra Election.

According to Nivo News, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has strongly rejected the outcome of the 2025 Anambra governorship election, describing it as a “cash-drenched bazaar” marred by widespread vote-buying and institutional failure.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement issued on Sunday, November 9, by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the election represented a serious threat to Nigeria’s democracy and a disturbing signal ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The condemnation followed shortly after President Bola Tinubu congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election, hailing the process as credible and reflective of Soludo’s “visionary leadership.”

The ADC, however, maintained that the exercise was anything but credible, alleging that the election was monetised on a massive scale, with the ruling party and its candidate openly engaging in vote trading. Abdullahi lamented that bundles of cash were exchanged at polling units in full public view, describing the act as a flagrant breach of the Electoral Act.

“What transpired in Anambra was not an election but a marketplace of money and influence, where democratic values were replaced with cash exchanges,” the statement read.

Abdullahi further criticised the conduct of security agencies and electoral officials, accusing them of either turning a blind eye or standing idle as voters were intimidated and induced. He expressed concern that institutions responsible for safeguarding electoral integrity failed in their duties.

“Even more worrisome was the complacency of agencies expected to protect the sanctity of the ballot. Security operatives and election officials appeared indifferent as the integrity of the process was openly compromised,” he stated.

The ADC spokesman warned that if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) repeats such practices in 2027, Nigeria’s democratic future would be in grave danger.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was declared the winner of Saturday’s poll after securing victory across all 21 local government areas. Official results showed that Soludo polled 422,664 votes, while Nicholas Ukachukwu of the APC and Paul Chukwuma of the YPP garnered 99,445 and 37,753 votes respectively.

Out of 2,788,864 registered voters, 598,229 were accredited, with 595,298 valid votes recorded and 11,244 rejected ballots.

Following his victory, President Tinubu commended INEC, security agencies, and the electorate for ensuring what he described as a peaceful and credible election. He applauded Soludo’s leadership qualities and pledged to strengthen collaboration between the Federal Government and the Anambra State Government for the development of the South-East region.

APC Fires Back at Adeleke Over ₦300bn LG Funds Allegation, Blames Governor for Salary Crisis....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to claims by Governor Ademola Adeleke that local government officials under the party diverted about ₦300 billion meant for workers’ salaries.

Adeleke had made the allegation during a stakeholders’ meeting, accusing APC-controlled council officials of hijacking funds and forcing the state government to shoulder salary payments for local government workers, teachers, health staff, and pensioners for over a year.

He insisted he would not abandon workers, blaming the situation for delays in executing some state projects.

But in a statement, APC’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, dismissed the claims, accusing the governor of misleading the public and shifting blame.

The party alleged that Adeleke was responsible for the salary issues, claiming he refused to release electronic payment vouchers and other financial documents needed for processing payments.

APC also said pension-related records, leave bonuses, cooperative deductions, and other financial data had not been made available despite repeated appeals, insisting that funds were properly accounted for and available for use if approved.

The party urged pensioners and workers to seek clarification, insisting the situation could be resolved if the governor allowed due process to take place.
