Police Custody Drama: Ned Nwoko Speaks Out, Reveals ₦125m Transfers And Secret Video Evidence.

Businessman and lawmaker, Senator Ned Nwoko, has unveiled new evidence and video footage linked to the ongoing dispute involving his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, and her brother, Samuel “Sammy West” Ojeogwu, who is currently in police detention.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to Nivo News, the senator representing Delta North released a detailed statement on Saturday night through his official X (formerly Twitter) account, alleging that the footage captures Sammy repeatedly invading his home and intimidating his children and domestic staff, particularly in his absence.

Nwoko said he decided to speak out again to dispel what he described as “false narratives” surrounding Sammy’s arrest, stressing that the issue was not a family squabble but a matter of personal safety and household security.

He disclosed that he had rendered extensive financial assistance to Regina’s family, including Sammy himself. “This is someone I sponsored through his last two years at the University of Ekpoma. I bought his musical instruments, rented and furnished a flat for him in Abuja, and consistently supported all members of the family, including her mother, Rita Daniel,” he stated.

The senator also claimed that over ₦125 million had been transferred to Regina’s mother within the past two years.

According to him, Regina’s journey to rehabilitation was repeatedly sabotaged by her siblings and close friends, whom he accused of sneaking drugs into his residence during her recovery process. “They would come into the house uninvited, bringing her the same drugs she was being treated for. Instead of aiding her recovery, they frustrated the doctors and therapists,” he alleged.

Nwoko further detailed instances of alleged misconduct, claiming that Regina and her relatives frequently defied security protocols and engaged in verbal altercations with the police attached to his residence. He recounted a particular incident where Sammy reportedly stormed his home in protest after Nwoko asked Sammy’s girlfriend to leave the house, resulting in a confrontation.

He also alleged that his wife’s erratic behavior and frequent late-night outings were linked to substance use, which, according to him, she often justified as part of “a celebrity lifestyle.”

“The situation became unbearable,” he wrote, lamenting how efforts to help Regina recover were constantly undermined by her siblings’ interference and disregard for boundaries.

The senator emphasized that the viral video showing Regina and her siblings confronting his staff was filmed in front of his home during his absence, describing it as a “scripted Nollywood scene” meant to distort the truth.

He added that despite his previous financial and moral support, Sammy’s conduct had grown increasingly erratic, violent, and self-destructive. Nwoko said he once sponsored another of Regina’s brothers, Lawrence, for a master’s program in London with $75,000 and offered the same to Sammy, who declined to remain in Nigeria for his music career.

Nwoko insisted that Sammy now requires rehabilitation and professional help to curb his aggression and self-destructive habits.

The revelations come amid rising tension between Nwoko and Regina’s family, following the actress’s recent comments defending her mother and questioning the treatment of her brother, who remains in police custody.

Addressing the Senate President directly, she issued a stern warning that actions taken against her will ultimately backfire, writing:

“Dear Godswill Akpabio, Senate President of the Nigerian 10th Assembly… continue. Dear Punch Newspapers, Guardian Nigeria, and others… you may take the envelope and publish whatever Akpabio’s office sends to you. S.P. Akpabio, know that the pits you dig for me, you shall very well fall into.”

Context of the Leaked Audio

BLOCKBUSTER RULING: Appeal Court Flips Script On Magu’s EFCC Tenure In Stunning Legal Reversal!.

Published

on

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has set aside a previous Federal High Court ruling that validated Ibrahim Magu’s extended service as the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The appellate court’s decision follows an appeal by Abuja-based lawyer and activist Johnmary Jideobi. He challenged Magu’s prolonged acting tenure after the Senate twice rejected his nomination for a substantive appointment.

Background of the Case

  • The Origin: Jideobi filed the initial suit in March 2017, arguing that Magu could not occupy the acting role indefinitely following his rejection by the Senate.

  • The 2019 High Court Ruling: Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu dismissed the suit, ruling that the EFCC Establishment Act contained a gap regarding the time limit for an acting chairperson, leaving the duration to presidential discretion.

  • The Appeal: Dissatisfied, Jideobi argued that keeping Magu in office violated statutory limits and that the acting appointment legally terminated once the Senate rejected his nomination.

Subsequent Developments

Magu’s tenure as acting chairman ultimately concluded in July 2020 following his suspension by former President Muhammadu Buhari over misconduct allegations, which Magu denied before an investigative panel.

Following his exit, Mohammed Umar Abba temporarily took over before Abdulrasheed Bawa was appointed as substantive chairman in February 2021. Bawa was later suspended in June 2023 by President Bola Tinubu, leading to the appointment of the current substantive chairman, Ola Olukoyede.
