The directive was issued during a high-level strategic meeting held at the NAF Headquarters in Abuja, where Air Marshal Aneke met with air component commanders from various operational theatres. The meeting was aimed at strengthening precision air operations and executing smarter, more decisive strikes against insurgents and bandits across the country.

A statement from the Air Force noted that the session marked a critical phase in realigning the NAF’s operational strategy and enhancing collaboration with other security agencies to bolster national security efforts.

Addressing the senior officers, Aneke emphasized the need for agility, precision, and intelligence-driven missions, highlighting that such an approach was essential in tackling evolving security threats. He stated, “We must fly smarter and strike harder; every mission must reflect professionalism, purpose, and patriotism.”

The Air Chief urged commanders to maintain operational discipline, ensure precision in targeting, and minimize collateral damage during operations. He also stressed the importance of synchronizing air, land, and maritime missions to guarantee successful outcomes and safeguard national interests.

“Our operations must be intelligence-led and closely coordinated with sister services to maximize the impact on terrorist networks,” Aneke remarked.

Reaffirming his administration’s dedication to personnel welfare and innovation, the Air Chief pledged to provide airmen and women with advanced tools and modern warfare skills to effectively address current and emerging threats.

“The safety and confidence of our citizens are our indicators of success. Nigeria is counting on us, and we will not fail,” he assured.

Nivo News gathered that the directive follows renewed counterterrorism operations in the North-East, North-West, and North-Central regions, where combined air and ground offensives have recently neutralized several high-value terrorist targets. The NAF has also intensified aerial surveillance and precision strikes in partnership with the Army and Navy under a joint military framework.

Aneke’s renewed call for decisive air superiority reflects the military’s determination to dismantle terror networks, restore peace in troubled regions, and ensure the protection of Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
