Nnamdi Kanu Appeals To Trump Over ‘Genocide’ Of Christians In South-East Nigeria

Published

Detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu has penned an open letter to U.S. President Donald Trump, claiming that the killing of Christians in Nigeria has spread to the South-East, now threatening Igbo communities.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In the letter, released on Thursday, Kanu alleged that what has been described as Christian persecution is no longer confined to the northern part of the country. He said the “mass killing of Christians” has extended into Igbo-majority regions.

Kanu also accused the Nigerian government of orchestrating multiple attempts on his life. He recalled his abduction from Kenya in June 2021, describing it as a violation of both Kenyan and international law, despite a ruling by the Kenyan High Court condemning the operation. He said he was subsequently detained in Abuja without valid charges for defending the rights of his people.

Addressing Trump directly, Kanu referenced the U.S. President’s warning on October 31, 2025, that the United States could take military action or cut aid if Nigeria fails to protect its Christian population. He said the statement gave hope to millions of Nigerians facing what he described as an existential threat.

“The genocide is not confined to the North; it has spread into the Igbo heartland, where Judeo-Christians are being systematically targeted under the guise of counter-terrorism,” Kanu wrote. He described IPOB as a peaceful civil rights movement grounded in Judeo-Christian values.

Kanu further claimed that extremist groups, including Boko Haram, ISWAP, and Fulani militias, are operating in the South-East with state complicity. He alleged that the Nigerian military is now the primary perpetrator of violence in these regions, using a false narrative to blame victims.

He accused the Nigerian government of branding IPOB a terrorist organization without evidence, orchestrating attacks by “unknown gunmen,” and killing more than 2,000 Igbo youths in counter-terrorism operations between 2021 and 2025. Kanu described these actions as following a strategy similar to Rwanda’s, creating chaos, blaming the victims, and justifying extermination.

Show Us The Money! Atiku Demands Full List Of ₦501 Billion Power Bond Beneficiaries In Massive Transparency War!.

Published

on

Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Atiku Abubakar, has called on the federal government to publicly disclose the beneficiaries of the ₦501 billion bond issued to clear debts owed to electricity generation companies (GenCos). This demand follows reports from the Association of Power Generation Companies (APGC) that the bond funds have not been fully disbursed, despite earlier government assurances.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement released by his special assistant on public communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku referenced the recent disclosure by APGC CEO, Dr. Joy Ogaji, that the federal government still owes GenCos approximately ₦6.5 trillion. Atiku described Ogaji’s comment—liking the token payments to “rubbing oil on a crying child’s mouth to imply that he had eaten”—as a perfect reflection of the current administration’s approach: “grand announcements, impressive figures, glossy headlines, and very little substance.

Atiku characterized the situation as a “crisis of credibility,” questioning why the public is repeatedly asked to celebrate fresh borrowing to resolve problems the government claims it already solved. He challenged the administration to publish a detailed breakdown of all payments made under the ₦501 billion bond, including:

  • The names of all GenCos that received payments.

  • The specific amounts paid to each beneficiary.

  • The dates of these transactions.

  • The outstanding balances still owed.

Furthermore, the former vice-president accused the Tinubu administration of relying on “ceremonies” and “headlines” of borrowing rather than addressing the root issues in the power sector. He called for a comprehensive public audit of all power sector intervention funds by oversight bodies, including the National Assembly and the Auditor-General of the Federation.

“Nigerians deserve to know precisely how much has been borrowed, how much has been disbursed, who received the money, and why the debts continue to rise despite repeated claims of settlement,” Atiku stated, emphasizing that public money cannot “disappear into official press statements.
