‘Strength Beyond Walls’: Queeneth Agbor Feeds 1,000 Inmates, Launches Empowerment Movement.
Nollywood actress and media personality, Queeneth Agbor, has opened up about her early struggles in the film industry, revealing that she was once on the verge of being stereotyped into only playing emotional roles. In an exclusive chat monitored by Nivo News, the actress reflected on her decade-long journey, the evolution of Nollywood, and her commitment to artistic integrity.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Agbor, who studied Microbiology at the University of Calabar, said her acting journey began after she was persuaded to take a short course at the Royal Arts Academy in 2014. Since then, she has featured in numerous productions, including Painful Kingdom, The Movement, Kiss and Tell, Tears of Onuoma, Lost Identity, and Namaste.
Speaking on her career milestones, the actress recalled that her versatility helped her avoid being boxed into one type of role. “At some point, I was almost stereotyped into crying characters because I could cry easily on set,” she said. “But my ability to switch accents and embody diverse characters, like Jessica in Hooked and Roschini in Namaste, helped me stand out.”
She noted that her role in Namaste, where she portrayed an Indian character complete with accent and gestures, remains one of her fans’ favorites. “People still call me Roschini or say ‘Bless me, Bless me’ whenever they see me,” she said with a smile.
Reflecting on the evolution of Nollywood, Agbor said the industry has made remarkable progress in professionalism and quality. “Back then, actors could spend days on set for a single waka pass scene without pay. Today, things are much more organized, and professionalism has taken center stage,” she explained.
The actress also revealed one of her toughest moments in the industry — being blacklisted without knowing why. “Apparently, I had declined some jobs due to scheduling conflicts, and people misinterpreted it as me refusing to work with certain productions. That nearly broke me, but God turned it around for good,” she recounted.
Beyond acting, Agbor is known for her humanitarian work. She recently celebrated her birthday by feeding 1,000 inmates at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre — an initiative she describes as “a scary dream turned powerful reality.” She has since launched a movement called Strength Beyond Walls, dedicated to supporting inmates and advocating for compassion within correctional facilities.
On her philosophy for success, the actress said she maintains her values and never compromises artistic integrity for fame. “I choose my projects wisely and stay true to my brand. Quality over quantity will always be my rule,” she stated.
Offering advice to aspiring actors, Agbor urged them to remain focused, patient, and grounded. “Set your goals, define your values, and never lose yourself to desperation. Above all, put God first,” she advised.
Although she keeps her love life private, the actress revealed that she is currently focused on self-love and personal growth. “It’s been an amazing journey. Everyone should try it,” she added.
Agbor teased that she has several exciting projects in the pipeline, though she chose to keep details under wraps to preserve “the magic of anticipation.”
According to Nivo News, the actress continues to prove that talent, consistency, and compassion can create a lasting legacy both on and off the screen.
