Shettima Declares: No Ethnic Group Marginalised Under Tinubu’s Government.
Vice President Kashim Shettima has reaffirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration remains fair, inclusive, and committed to ensuring that no ethnic or religious group is marginalized in the nation’s governance.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Nivo News, Shettima gave the assurance when he hosted a delegation of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) led by its Board of Trustees Chairman, Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. He urged northern leaders to unite behind President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing that the government’s policies are designed to promote inclusion, equity, and national cohesion.
Dismissing claims of marginalisation, the Vice President noted that those promoting such narratives were driven by greed and selfish interests rather than genuine grievances. He said the administration was focused on addressing the country’s social and economic challenges while ensuring that every region benefits equally from ongoing reforms.
“We have proven that our diversity is our strength. Our differences in tribe, faith, and geography are the very bricks that build this house of destiny we live in. We must continue to resist attempts to divide us,” Shettima said, stressing that unity remains central to Nigeria’s progress.
He highlighted that the government’s agenda prioritizes education, agriculture, industrialisation, and security—pillars aimed at revitalising the northern region and creating opportunities for all Nigerians. Shettima explained that initiatives like the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the expansion of vocational and technical centres would prepare young people for modern employment in agriculture, manufacturing, and technology.
The Vice President also stated that the administration was moving Nigeria from subsistence farming to commercial agriculture, with efforts underway to develop agro-processing industries, microfinance systems, and industrial zones in states such as Kano, Kaduna, and Sokoto.
On security, Shettima reaffirmed that restoring peace in troubled areas remains a top priority, adding that coordinated military operations have neutralised several bandit leaders and restored stability to affected communities.
He assured the northern leaders that their interests remain well represented in the Tinubu administration, pledging closer collaboration with the ACF to promote regional development and national stability.
Dalhatu, on his part, commended the Tinubu government for its bold reforms and praised Shettima for his loyalty and commitment to national unity. He said the ACF’s visit was to show solidarity with the government and to invite the Vice President to the forum’s upcoming 25th anniversary celebration, which would focus on strategies for the North’s socio-economic revival.
Other members of the delegation included Senator Ibrahim Ida, Murtala Aliyu, Ibrahim Mai-Sule, Alhaji Nasiru Danu, Baba Ahmed Jidda, Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, Lt.-Gen. Abdurahman Dambazau (rtd.), former IGP M. D. Abubakar (rtd.), Beni Lar, and Mrs. Christine Gadzama.
